Taking Allergies Off the Table

Egg Allergy Warning Notes and Labels

AllerNote products are food allergy warning alerts designed to provide food service workers with a heightened awareness of the seriousness of your allergy- affording you peace of mind so you can enjoy eating away from home. Two types of AllerNote products are available: AllerNote notes and AllerNote Labels. Those that address egg allergy issues read “No Eggs”. The act of handing over an AllerNote will go one step further in assuring that your explanation will be “taken in hand” and acted upon rather than being ignored. We’ve found them to be very effective.

AllerNote notes are transferable sticky notes that can be attached, removed and attached again without leaving any residue. They are designed to be given to your server as you explain your allergy issue. The AllerNote is an added reminder to your server and other food service workers of your food preparation needs and health concerns. There are 50 AllerNote notes in each matchbook type pad.

AllerNote Labels are semi-permanent, self-adhesive labels that are not easily removed; they are designed for lunch-boxes, notebooks, laptop covers, tumblers and anywhere else where it would be appropriate to draw attention to your allergy issue.

SEOXXEgg allergies are overreactions of the body’s immune system to proteins found in eggs. Most people with allergies to egg have reactions to the egg white, while others react to the egg yolk. Eggs are a common ingredient. By way of example, in baking eggs are commonly found in coatings on breads, pies and pastries. Eggs are even used in incubating certain vaccines, like the flu shot. Like most food allergies, it develops early in childhood, but is among the allergies that tend to disappear as a child gets older; however, this is not the case for everyone. While reactions tend to be mild, they can surface as itching, swelling, watery eyes, stomach pains, diarrhea or even the most severe allergic reaction - anaphylaxis, which can result in death if not given immediate medical attention. Alerting restaurant staff of your allergy with AllerNote notes (in addition to providing a full explanation of your allergy issue) can help them to focus on the fact that you must avoid any egg products in your food – thereby encouraging the use of an egg-substitute in making an omelet or making sure that no one glazes your pretzel.
