AllerNote products are food allergy warning alerts designed to provide food service workers with a heightened awareness of the seriousness of your allergy- affording you peace of mind so you can enjoy eating away from home. Two types of AllerNote products are available: AllerNote notes and AllerNote Labels. Those that address fish allergy issues read “No Fish”. The act of handing over an AllerNote will go one step further in assuring that your explanation will be “taken in hand” and acted upon rather than being ignored. We’ve found them to be very effective.
AllerNote notes are transferable sticky notes that can be attached, removed and attached again without leaving any residue. They are designed to be given to your server as you explain your allergy issue. The AllerNote is an added reminder to your server and other food service workers of your food preparation needs and health concerns. There are 50 AllerNote notes in each matchbook type pad.
AllerNote Labels are semi-permanent, self-adhesive labels that are not easily removed; they are designed for lunch-boxes, notebooks, laptop covers, tumblers and anywhere else where it would be appropriate to draw attention to your allergy issue.

Fish allergies are overreactions of the body’s immune system to specific kinds of bony and scaly fish – salmon, trout, halibut, cod, etc. Often a person is allergic to only one species of fish, experiencing no reaction to other types of fish. Still, it is best to play it safe. Like most food allergies, it develops in childhood, and is among the allergies most likely to persist into adulthood. Combined with shellfish, seafood allergies are the most prevalent food allergy in America today. It is fortunate that fish is generally not a ‘hidden ingredient’ in food, as allergic reactions to fish are among the most severe. Reactions can include hives, swelling, digestive problems or even the most severe allergic reaction - anaphylaxis, which can result in death if not given immediate medical attention. Alerting restaurant staff of your allergy with AllerNote notes (in addition to providing a full explanation of your allergy issue) can help them to focus on the fact that you must avoid even trace amounts of fish in your food, and serves to remind them that your meal should not be cooked alongside fish or with any type of fish oil.
