AllerNote Labels are semi-permanent, self-adhesive labels that are not easily removed; they are designed for lunch-boxes, notebooks, laptop covers, tumblers and anywhere else where it would be appropriate to draw attention to your allergy issue.

A nut allergy refers to an overreaction of the body’s immune system to either peanuts or tree nuts (such as cashews, walnuts or pecans). Since peanuts are legumes and not tree nuts, these are actually two separate conditions, though they often coincide. Still, a person allergic to peanuts may or may not be allergic to tree nuts. Like most food allergies, it develops in childhood, and is among the allergies most likely to persist into adulthood. Peanut allergies in particular tend to be the most severe, and even the smallest amount can cause a violent reaction. Reactions can include rashes, hives, swelling, stomach pain, or even the most severe allergic reaction - anaphylaxis, which can result in death if not given immediate medical attention. Alerting restaurant staff to your allergy with AllerNote notes (in addition to providing a full explanation of your allergy issue) can help them to focus on the fact that you must avoid not only whole or crushed nuts in your food, but also foods containing or cooked in peanut oil.
AllerNote products are food allergy warning alerts designed to provide food service workers with a heightened awareness of the seriousness of your allergy- affording you peace of mind so you can enjoy eating away from home. Two types of AllerNote products are available: AllerNote notes and AllerNote Labels. Those that address nut allergy issues read “No Nuts”. The act of handing over an AllerNote will go one step further in assuring that your explanation will be “taken in hand” and acted upon rather than being ignored. We’ve found them to be very effective.
